For those seeking a career in aviation, this is the first milestone in your flight training towards that goal.
Whats involved?
- Minimum of 25 hours of Flight Training
- English Language Assessment
- Theory Exams.

Private Pilot Licence (PPL)

Additional HoursPrivate Pilot Licence
After you learn to fly and gain your Recreational Pilot Licence the next stage of your flight training is the Private Pilot Licence (PPL). Flying lessons for your PPL Flight Training will be conducted in your choice of aircraft from our diverse fleet including the Piper or Cessna.
Whats involved?
- Students already holding a RPL will require an additional 20 to 30 hours of flight training, including 5 hours of solo cross country navigation. The minimum number of hours required by regulation for the issue of a PPL is 40 hours, including 10 hours solo flying time.
- Complete study and exams in PPL Theory. Modules include Meteorology, Navigation, Performance and Air Law.
- Undertake a flight test with a CASA Approved Testing Officer.

Commercial Pilot Licence
For those interested in a career in aviation whether it be as an Airline pilot, a Flight Instructor, a Charter pilot, or in Agricultural flying operations then you will require a Commercial Pilot Licence.
Whats involved?
- Your CPL Flight Training will involve additional hours of flying lessons in one of our General Aviation aircraft.
- Study and complete the 7 CPL Theory Exams.
- On completion of your training you will undertake a flight test with a CASA Approved Testing Officer.
