Earn Your Wings – Start Flying with a Recreational Pilot Licence

The Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) is your first formal step toward becoming a licensed pilot.

This licence allows you to fly light aircraft solo or with passengers within 25 nautical miles of your departure airport – with the option to extend through endorsements.

Whether you’re flying for fun or working toward a Commercial Pilot Licence, the RPL sets a strong foundation.

Your Aircraft

Choose from a diverse fleet of aircraft to complete your Recreational Pilot Licence.

A perfect starting point

Cessna 152

The Cessna 152 is a classic two-seat trainer, widely regarded as one of the best aircraft for beginner pilots. Its simple design, responsive controls, and economical fuel consumption make it ideal for ab-initio (initial) training. For students undertaking their RPL, the Cessna 152 provides a safe and forgiving platform to master basic flight principles and build confidence in the cockpit.

smooth and spacious

Piper Warrior

The Piper Warrior is another excellent option for RPL students, offering a slightly different handling experience compared to the Cessna series. Known for its low-wing design, spacious cabin, and robust build, the Warrior is a comfortable and capable training platform. It’s particularly beneficial for students planning to continue flying recreationally beyond their licence, thanks to its excellent cross-country performance and practical features.

versatile and reliable

Cessna 172

The Cessna 172 is one of the most popular training aircraft in the world, and for good reason. With a more powerful engine and four-seat configuration, it offers greater stability, comfort, and endurance. Students training for their RPL benefit from the aircraft’s advanced avionics and smooth handling, especially when preparing for more complex flight manoeuvres or when flying with passengers under supervision.
