Flying Member

$270.00 per annum + One-off $99.00 Joining Fee


REQUIREMENTS: 

Persons who are qualified pilots (RPL/PPL/CPL/ATPL).

 

BENEFITS: 

  • Voting rights
  • 30 minutes of FREE instructional time to facilitate a fleet hire check 
  • 1 hour of FREE instructional time to facilitate a flight review.
  • Aircraft discounts
  • Bar discounts
  • Access to social events and seminars
  • A complimentary voucher for use at the Flight Deck Bar and Grill within the month of your birthday.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • An additional one-off $99.00 joining fee applies for this membership type. 
  • Renewal Membership in this category does not require the joining fee. 
  • A Flying Member permanently residing at least 80 kilometres from Moorabbin Airport is eligible to pay a reduced membership fee.  
  • A person who has been a Flying Member paying the full rate for more than 5 years is eligible for an additional discount on aircraft hire rates.
  • A person who has been a Flying Member paying the full rate for 15 years may apply for life membership for a fee of $1620.00. 

Student Member

$90.00 per annum

REQUIREMENTS: 

A person who is studying or intends to study* for a licence, rating or endorsement and has not previously been a flying member.

*Note: must commence training within 3 months of enrolment in this membership type.

Observer Member

$99.00 per annum

REQUIREMENTS: 

Persons over 18 years and not a pilot.

 

BENEFITS: 

  • Bar discounts (not applicable for members under 18 years of age)
  • Access to social events and seminars
  • A complimentary birthday voucher for use at the Flight Deck Bar and Grill

 

NOTE: No voting rights. 

Temporary Member

$0 per annum (2 Months Maximum)

REQUIREMENTS: 

This membership must be approved by 2 Board Members. Maximum length of membership is 2 months. Can not be extended.

To be eligible for this membership, you must be:
• A member of any aero club, and/or
• A qualified pilot

Commercial flying rates apply. Membership must be approved before flying commences. Please email all requests for temporary membership to members@rvac.com.au

Life Member

$1560 one off payment

REQUIREMENTS: Persons who have been Flying Members for fifteen years, have paid the appropriate fee and have been approved by the Board.


BENEFITS:Voting rights, aircraft discounts, bar discounts, access to social events and seminars, birthday voucher.


NOTE:The current fee is six times the annual subscription, which equals $1,500 inc. GST.

Observer Member

$99.00 per annum

REQUIREMENTS: Persons over 18 years and not a pilot.


BENEFITS: Bar discounts, birthday voucher, access to social events.


NOTE:No voting rights.

Junior Flying Member

$55.00 per annum

REQUIREMENTS: Holds or intends to hold a pilots licence and is aged 15-18 years.


BENEFITS: Flying aircraft discounts and seminars.


NOTE:No voting rights. No Bar or Flight Deck rights.

Student Provisional Member (DoA)

$55.00 per annum

REQUIREMENTS: Intends to hold a pilot’s licence, is 18+ years old and enrolled and officially accepted in an RVAC Full Time Diploma course.


BENEFITS:Flying aircraft discounts, bar discounts, access to social events and seminars, birthday voucher.


NOTE: No voting rights.

Important Note:

  1. Flying and Honorary memberships are the only types of membership giving the right to vote in Club affairs.
  2. Any member whose spouse is a flying member, provisional flying member or an observer member may renew his/her membership at 50% of the equal or lower subscription rate under which he/she is registered.
  3. A one-off joining fee of $99.00 will applies for all Flying Members
  4. The joining fee is waived for observer members. 
  5. The joining fee includes 30min instructional time (to facilitate a flight check) – The joining fee includes a $30 voucher to the Flight Deck Bar & Grill (to be used in the first 12 months and no other discounts apply) 
  6. The conditions under which pilot members obtain the discounted hiring rates are as follows:

a. Commence from the date that the subscription is paid;
b. Apply to all Club owned aircraft, on-line and selected cross-hired aircraft;
c. Applies to all flying where the member is listed as pilot in command, including competitions; and
d. Applies only to Moorabbin-based aircraft.

(Other terms and conditions may be applied as and when appropriate.)

Please note: Temporary Membership is not available online. Temporary Membership requires;

1 – Two members of the Board may elect a person who is

a: A member of any Aero Club; or 

b: A qualified pilot;

as a temporary member.

The period of Temporary Membership cannot be more than two months and cannot be extended for further periods.
