Convert your licence. Fly in Australia.
If you hold a foreign pilot licence and want to fly in Australia, RVAC can assist you in converting your overseas qualification to a CASA-recognised Australian flight crew licence.
We provide the training, aircraft, and support you need to meet the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) requirements—whether you’re seeking a private, commercial, or air transport pilot licence conversion.
Our experienced instructors will help assess what components you need and guide you through any required flight reviews, theory exams, or flight testing based on your current qualifications and flying experience.

How to Convert Your Licence – Step by Step
01
Read CASA’s official conversion requirements

This page outlines the specific steps, documentation, and pathways depending on your licence type and issuing country.
02
Apply for Verification and Permission
Submit an application to CASA for permission to undertake a conversion. This includes:
– Applying for a CASA ARN (Aviation Reference Number)
– Submitting a Licence Verification Request
– Completing an Aviation English Language Proficiency Assessment (if applicable)
03
Undertake Theory Exams (if required)
CASA may require you to pass one or more theory exams based on your licence type and experience. We can assist with preparation and exam bookings.
04
Book a Flight Review or Flight Test
Depending on your experience, you may be required to undertake a flight review or pass a formal flight test with a CASA-approved Flight Examiner.
05
Receive your CASA Licence
Once all requirements are met, CASA will issue your Australian flight crew licence, allowing you to fly under Australian aviation regulations.
06
