REQUIREMENTS:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- An additional one-off $99.00 joining fee applies for this membership type.
- Renewal Membership in this category does not require the joining fee.
- A Flying Member permanently residing at least 80 kilometres from Moorabbin Airport is eligible to pay a reduced membership fee.
- A person who has been a Flying Member paying the full rate for more than 5 years is eligible for an additional discount on aircraft hire rates.
- A person who has been a Flying Member paying the full rate for 15 years may apply for life membership for a fee of $1800.00.
REQUIREMENTS:
A person who is studying or intends to study* for a licence, rating or endorsement and has not previously been a flying member.
*Note: must commence training within 3 months of enrolment in this membership type.

This membership must be approved by 2 Board Members. Maximum length of membership is 2 months. Can not be extended.

• A qualified pilot

Introduction
These Membership Terms and Conditions outline the responsibilities of Club members.
Members must comply with the Club Constitution rules and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
Membership Records
Members must provide accurate and current contact details and promptly notify the Club of any changes to:
- – Residential address;
- – Postal address;
- – Email address;
- – Telephone number;
- – Aviation licences, certificates, ratings, or authorisations;
- – Any information relevant to membership eligibility.
Membership Cards
All financial members can access their online membership card and barcode for Club / Bar discounts.
Plastic membership cards are no longer issued – unless Smart phones are not in use by the Member.
Membership Privileges and indemnity
Membership privileges vary according to membership classification.
Flying Members are entitled to vote, fly club aircraft (subject to the below), use club facilities and attend functions.
Student members are entitled to the same benefits, other than voting.
Observer members are entitled to attend Flight Deck and receive a discount on food and beverages limited to $500 per membership year.
Pursuant to Rule 5 of the Constitution, members indemnify the Club and others for loss or damage they may incur so far as legally possible.
Flying Members
Members acknowledge that aviation activities involve inherent risks including serious injury, death, property damage, and financial loss.
Flying Members are responsible for ensuring they:
- – Hold all required licences, certificates, ratings, endorsements, and medical clearances;
- – Operate aircraft within the privileges of those qualifications;
- – Comply with all directions of aviation regulators;
- – Meet Club operational requirements before exercising any flying privileges.
- – The Club may suspend flying privileges where safety concerns arise.
- – Members in command of an aircraft are liable for the insurance excess in the event damage is incurred, unless fault lies elsewhere.
Privacy
The Club collects, stores, and uses personal information for legitimate membership, operational, safety, regulatory, and administrative purposes.
By applying for membership, members consent to the collection and use of personal information for these purposes and as otherwise required by law.
