Our Team at RVAC Flight Training Melbourne

RVAC's team of professionals offer a wide variety of skill and knowledge to ensure every opportunity is made available to allow you to achieve your aviation goals. Our team of administration and maintenance representatives are key to ensuring that our renowned flying school is managed smoothly.

Our flight training team at RVAC is equipped with a robust collective of qualified aviation professionals. You’ll always be under the instruction of competent pilots committed to safety, honesty and excellence in flying.

Equipped with a plethora of knowledge and years of flying experience, you will always be in safe hands. Our professional flight training team are available seven days a week to assist you with all aspects of your flight training.

Professional mentors to assist you with all aspects of learning to fly

RVAC is dedicated to teaching individuals to fly aircraft safely, competently, and with confidence. Our group of professional pilots are committed to our students, and to providing hands on experience, whilst maintaining a safe and fun learning environment for all participants.

Our instructors will assist you with all aspects of learning to fly. From classroom-based theory to flying, our industry professionals will be your go-to mentors for your flight training courses.

Antony Provan

 

Head of Operations

Tony specializes in ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training, Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) as well as running our GPS courses. Approved to conduct flight tests for instrument and multi-engine ratings, commercial pilot licences as well as instrument proficiency checks. Tony holds an Air Transport Pilot Licence. 

Tony returned to aviation in 2009 after spending 10 years as a Captain in the maritime industry.

Davide Ierkic

Chief Pilot 

Davide has been with the Royal Victorian Aero Club since 2006. Davide specializes in ab initio (no prior experience) through to Commercial training, Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and Instructor Training. Davide can conduct flight tests for both RPL and PPL.

Davide is also our Italian student team leader.

 

 

Karl Mackay

Flight Instructor

Training students from ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training. Karl has a Bachelor of Aviation degree and is qualified with his Night VFR Endorsement, Design Feature Endorsement, Instrument Flight Rating and completed a Multi Crew cooperation and Jet Orientation course as well as his ATPL exams. Karl also has his Multi Engine Training Approval and Instrument Rating Training Approval

Dasun Gunaratne

Flight Instructor

Training students from ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training. Dasun is qualified to instruct for the Night VFR Endorsement.

Letitia Schueler

Flight Instructor

Training students from ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training. Letitia is qualified to instruct for the Night VFR Endorsement.

Tim Wreford

Flight Instructor

Training students from ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training. He holds a Multi Engine Class Rating and an Instrument Flight Rating. Tim also has his Multi Engine Training Approval and Instrument Rating Training Approval.

 

Mukul Iyer

Flight Instructor

Training students from ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training. He holds a Multi Engine Class Rating and an Instrument Flight Rating.

Christian Murphy

Flight Instructor

Training students from ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training. He holds a Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating, Instrument Rating and a Tailwheel endorsement.

Steven Bryans

Flight Instructor

Training students from ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training. He holds a Multi Engine Class Rating.

Steven was born in Belfast and is our Irish student team leader.

Corey Spencer

Flight Instructor

Training students from ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training. Corey holds a Multi Engine Class Rating and an Instrument Flight Rating.

Koichi Bartlett

Flight Instructor

Training students from ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training. Koichi holds a Multi Engine Class Rating and an Instrument Flight Rating. He has completed all of his ATPL subjects.

Joe Chow

Flight Instructor

Training students from ab initio (no prior experience) to Commercial training. Joe holds a Multi Engine Class Rating and Instrument Flight Rating.

 

Deborah Fanning

Aviation Theory Instructor

Deborah runs the ground theory for the club with the ability to teach up to the ATPL level and is also able to deliver the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment course for Registered Training Organisations.

Administration and Maintenance Teams

Our administration team are Lisa Brydson, Jeannine Kittle and Bridgett Uildriks, Chloe Parsons and Bernadette Armstrong.

The team is in charge of organising the smooth running of the day-to-day office activities at RVAC Flight Training Melbourne are managed efficiently. 

Tony Suhr heads up RVAC's maintenance team, along with Matt William and Joel Coach in ensuring that all aircraft are in a clean and safe condition for flying.  The maintenance team also attends to and upholds the general maintenance of all RVAC facilities.
