Recreational Aviation - the ideal starting point for flight training.
The most cost effective way to learn to fly is to first obtain a Recreational Pilot Certificate (RA) and then, if you wish, move to the General Aviation system and obtain the Private Pilot Licence (PPL).
The Club's RA training facility is located at Coldstream Airport in the Yarra Valley.
The RA system uses light two-seat aircraft administered under an inherently cheaper administration structure by the Recreational Aviation Association of Australia, Inc. (RA-Aus.)
RA flight training hours are recognised as part of the PPL syllabus.
